In the production of fasteners, wire materials are usually used as prematerial. Due to the strong cost pressure in a globalized sales market, the pre-material as a potential factor for reducing manufacturing costs moves into focus. However, an incorrect choice of pre-material carries the risk of impairing process capability, as can be seen from the model process investigated in this work. A detailed analysis of a boron-manganese steel made it possible to determine how the wire manufacturing process affects the plastic material properties. The developed modeling approaches which take into account the properties from preliminary processes in numerical models now allow the quantification of properties of different manufacturing variants of a wire material. In addition, an investigation of important basic forming operations shows that the targeted use of prematerial conditions can also be used to extend process limits.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
