The Copyright collecting agency WORT (VG WORT) is a registered association that takes responsibility for the exploitation of copyright entitlements and the payment of royalties to beneficiaries and publishers.
Authors and editors of academic publications can register as the beneficiaries with VG WORT in order to receive royalties: VG WORT beneficiaries. Please note that even if you do register your publication with VG WORT, there is no guarantee that you will be entitled to receive royalties. It is possible to register with VG WORT for the payment of so-called ‘special royalties’ (Sonderausschüttung) if a solely digital publication in eBook form is freely available on the OPEN FAU repository. In this case, please also see the information pages website.
